Post Secondary Planning

At TCS, planning for a student‘s future doesn’t start in the junior or senior year. A comprehensive evaluation of strengths and weaknesses, skills and value systems begins at entry, so that at graduation a transition from TCS to an appropriate placement is a natural progression. We help each student find a path forward with testing, counseling and support.

All students participate each year in a standardized testing program. Placement decisions are not made on the basis of these tests. These results are utilized to plan our curriculum and may be a guide for further testing, if needed.

TCS does provide a complete array of post-secondary testing. Vocational testing (for an additional fee) allows students to explore skills, aptitudes and strengths to make informed career choices. The PSAT is administered each fall at TCS. Accommodated testing is available through the College Board and the ACT. The school psychologist aids in registration for the exam.  Those students qualifying for 100% extended time (ACT or SAT) may take the exam at the school.

Individualized counseling is available for career and post-secondary planning. We help each student analyze their strengths, interests and opportunities.
