Mr. Loux graduated from Penn State in 2011 with a degree in Secondary Education – Social Studies and a Minor in History.  He began his career in education working for the non-profit City Year.  He spent two years with City Year working at South Philadelphia High School and Overbrook High School as a tutor, mentor, teacher’s aid, and extra-curricular organizer.  He served as an extended substitute teacher at various Philadelphia public charter schools and focused on creating meaningful relationships with students in order to foster genuine investment in education from students who have many obstacles to overcome.  During this time, Mr. Loux also worked in Philadelphia restaurants and volunteered as a cooking teacher at YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School.  He brought his experience working in and with professional kitchens to students who were interested in that field.  He started working at The Concept School in 2015 and has continued to create strong relationships with students through honest historical investigation and discussion, competitive games of knock out on the basketball court, and cooking classes.
