On Thursday, February 5, TCS was thrilled to welcome Carolyn Lloyd from The Philadelphia Curling Club (https://philadelphiacurlingclub.org/) for a day of informative and fun curling instruction. Ms. Lloyd began with a school-wide assembly, teaching us all about the sport of curling. Through an interactive presentation blending hands-on exploration of curling equipment with lively discussion, we learned about the rules, techniques, and even the Olympic history of this fascinating sport. Over the remainder of the day, Ms. Lloyd met with small groups of 4-8 students for hands-on mini-games of floor curling, emphasizing the importance of good sportsmanship, support, and camaraderie. As Ms. Lloyd so eloquently put it: “In curling, either you win, or you learn.” We are so grateful to Ms. Lloyd for her time and energy, and very much look forward to the possibility of future curling adventures!
