The Concept School was fortunate enough to receive actors from Hedgerow Theater for a two-day residency.
These fun days were made possible by a grant from the Kennedy Center for the Arts.

Liz and Sarah led our kids through an understanding of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. They took a famous monologue from the play, and walked us through breaking down the words. Kids retold the monologue in modern language and then acted it out on our stage!
Students who aren’t usually involved in our troupe volunteered answers and played “Whose Line”?
Another day, the Hedgerow actors explained the one-person show we planned to see: I, Banquo.
They demystified stage blood and led us through activities regarding the creation of mood and tone.
The next day, we traveled to Hedgerow, hung out by the creek and waterfall, and took in I. Banquo with a question and answer period with the actor and musician! Our students were so well-behaved and asked awesome questions!
