On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, TCS held a cyber safety assembly with renowned expert, Liz Repking, from CyberSafety Consulting. She spoke with the students about a variety of subjects, including: cyberbullying and digital drama, online predators and grooming, digital footprint, managing screen time limits, online gaming, social media overexposure, sexting and sextortion, online pornography, popular apps and safety settings, parent/child technology agreements,monitoring options for devices and building healthy technology habits in the home. Students also learned that 1 in 5 students report they’ve been contacted by an online predator within the last year, 47% of teens aged 13-17 years old report that they are online “almost constantly, sextortion is the fastest growing online threat, affecting both teens and tweens, and nearly 42% of students have been bullied. She talked with the students and not down to them. Gave them important information without judging the students. The previous evening she gave a similar presentation to parents. Both presentations were well received by all.
